Playing Cards

Our final project for our Illustration course was to create 12 playing cards using Adobe Illustrator. I decided to theme my cards around snakes, since several snake species have names that correspond with face cards: the king cobra, queen snake, and butler’s garter snake (close enough to a jack). For the joker card, I thought it would be fun to make it one of those fake wooden snakes. The snakes were created using gradients and different layer blend modes to help their scales pop.
